Executive Account Manager, CPA

CPA Role:

To lead, manage and deliver superior client relationships through the delivery of accounting, tax and consulting services

Essential Functions:

  • Can perform all functions of the Staff Accountant-
    • The Staff Accountant must have the ability to complete engagements and maintain and develop client relationships for smaller clients and act as an intermediary between the client and the CPA/Partner on larger clients. They must be capable of making decisions on most accounting and tax matters and take responsibility for handling advanced financial recordkeeping of a difficult or complex nature, including the generation of accrual basis financial statements (not GAAP). 
  • Inspire, mentor and coach team members
  • Identify business risks and opportunities
  • Prepare partnership, S corporation and C corporation tax returns
  • Perform tax planning & strategy, estimate partnership, S corporation and C corporation taxes
  • Tax research and consulting
  • Manage sales tax audits
  • Manage DOL UI audits
  • Prepare customized analyses, budgets and financial reports (Excel)
  • Analyze and interpret financial data and make recommendations for improvements in accounting procedures and operating results
  • Plan, manage and complete engagements
  • Develop and manage existing client relationships
  • Develop and manage new client relationships, prepare proposals
  • Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients
  • Consult clients
  • Review tax return work papers
  • Review tax returns
  • Design accounting systems and procedures
  • Monitor profitability of individual clients
  • Resolve elevated billing and collection issues
  • Write “white papers” for clients and team training purposes
  • Monitor industry trends and help adopt new solutions and technologies

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations, maintain CPA CPE requirements

Working Conditions:

  • Work in the firm’s office or at the client’s premises
  • Work at the client’s premises requires the use of public transportation
  • Moderate overtime is required throughout the year as needed.  Significant overtime is required January 2 through April 15th as needed
